Key Advantages
- Hungarian-bred table grape variety.
- Large, attractive dark blue berries.
- Crisp texture and excellent flavour.
- High and reliable productivity.
- Good tolerance to dry conditions.
- Produces attractive, marketable clusters.
- Requires relatively little canopy work due to its limited lateral shoot growth.
Growing Characteristics
Melinda is a medium to vigorous growing variety that performs best in a sunny location. It adapts well to different soil conditions and has particularly good drought tolerance.
Its disease resistance is moderate, so regular protection against downy mildew and powdery mildew is recommended. The grapes should be harvested when fully ripe, as overripe berries may become susceptible to rot during prolonged rainy periods.
