Moldova

Moldova is a popular, late-ripening table grape variety developed in Moldova from a cross between Guzal Kara and Seyve-Villard 12-375. It is particularly valued for its large dark-purple berries, crisp flesh, reliable productivity and excellent storage qualities.

Main Characteristics

Ripening time: Late, generally ripening from late September into early October.
Berry: Large, oval to ovoid, approximately 5–6 g, with a deep violet-blue to dark purple colour and heavy bloom.
Cluster: Medium to large, conical to cylindrical-conical, typically around 400–500 g.
Flavour: Pleasant and harmonious, with crisp, juicy flesh and a neutral, refreshing taste.
Seeds: Usually 1–2 seeds per berry.
Use: Excellent for fresh consumption.
