Landis

Landis (also known as Landysh) is a distinctive Ukrainian-bred table grape variety developed by breeder Vitaliy Zagorulko. It is particularly valued for its large yellow berries, intense Muscat flavour and rich floral aroma. Its exceptionally aromatic taste is often associated with lily-of-the-valley and acacia-like floral notes, making Landis an excellent choice for those looking for something more distinctive than a traditional sweet table grape.

Ripening time: Early-medium to medium, approximately 125–135 days.
Berry: Large, elongated-oval, developing an attractive yellow to golden-yellow colour when fully ripe.
Seeds: Contains approximately 1–2 seeds.
Cluster: Large and attractive, typically around 500–700 g, with well-developed clusters capable of reaching approximately 1.2–1.5 kg.
Flavour: Sweet and highly aromatic, with an intense Muscat flavour and distinctive floral notes.

Growing Characteristics

Landis is a very vigorous and highly productive variety that performs best in a warm, sunny and well-ventilated location. A strong support system and regular pruning are recommended to manage its vigorous growth and maintain a balanced crop load. Its frost tolerance is reported at approximately −22 °C, while its overall disease resistance is considered moderate. Because of its ripening requirements, the warmest and sunniest possible position is preferable in cooler climates.
