Red Globe is one of the world’s best-known and most widely grown table grape varieties. Originally bred in California, USA, it has become popular worldwide thanks to its exceptional berry size, excellent storage life and impressive appearance. With its enormous clusters and exceptionally large, round berries, Red Globe is one of the most recognisable premium table grape varieties.

Main Characteristics

Ripening time: Medium-late, generally ready for harvest from mid-September.
Berry: Very large and round, ripening from red to deep pinkish-red.
Seeds: Contains 2–4 seeds.
Cluster: Large, conical or cylindrical-conical and moderately loose, typically weighing 700–1500 g, and under favourable conditions may reach up to 2 kg.
Flavour: Pleasantly sweet and harmonious, with a subtle fruity aroma and crisp, juicy flesh.
Use: Excellent for fresh consumption.

Growing Characteristics

Red Globe is a vigorous variety that performs best in a warm, sunny location. Regular pruning, adequate nutrition and a balanced water supply are recommended to support the development of its exceptionally large clusters and berries. To prevent overcropping, cluster thinning is recommended, helping the remaining berries develop to an even larger and more uniform size.
