Product Description
Nizina is a popular Russian-bred table grape variety developed by Viktor Krainov. Its large clusters, striking crimson-red berries and harmonious flavour have made it a favourite among both home gardeners and commercial growers. Thanks to its excellent productivity and good frost tolerance, it can also be successfully grown in Central European conditions.
Main Characteristics
Ripening time: Mid-season, generally ready for harvest from late August to early September.
Cluster: Large, conical or cylindrical-conical and moderately compact, typically weighing 700–1500 g, and under favourable conditions may reach up to 2 kg.
Berry: Very large and oval, weighing approximately 12–18 g.
Colour: Bright reddish-purple, developing a deep crimson-red colour when fully ripe.
Flavour: Harmoniously sweet and juicy, with crisp flesh and a subtle fruity aroma.
Seeds: Contains 2–3 seeds.
Growing Characteristics
Nizina is a vigorous, consistently productive and high-yielding variety. Appropriate pruning and careful regulation of the crop load are recommended to encourage the development of large, high-quality clusters. In a sunny location, the berries develop a more intense colour and higher sugar content.
Resistance and Hardiness
Nizina has good frost tolerance and shows above-average resistance to the most important fungal diseases. With standard plant protection measures and appropriate care, it can be grown reliably and successfully.
