Italia is one of the world’s best-known Italian table grape varieties, created in 1911 from a cross between Bicane and Muscat Hamburg. It is particularly valued for its large golden-yellow berries, attractive clusters, crisp flesh and delicate Muscat flavour.

Italia is a vigorous and productive variety that performs best in a warm, sunny location with a sufficiently long growing season. Because it ripens relatively late, a favourable site helps the berries develop their characteristic golden colour and Muscat aroma.

Its natural disease resistance is relatively limited, so regular plant protection and good canopy management are recommended. With proper care, Italia produces large, attractive clusters with excellent flavour and very good market quality.
